RE: trex heli flight times
at my peak (before my last crash) i was getting just a little over 16 minutes with my x400 + megamotor. 1800mAH 8C lipo lol.
currently it's back to 10-12minutes because i broke my 12t pinion so i have to use a higher one. also testing gov mode which drains it faster. and i have these friggen trex 305 wood blades that are killing my flight time. i thought they would give me better flight time but i was wrong.
my goal is to get 20+minutes with my new 2200mah. i believe ill be able to do it once my new parts arrive: cnc belt gears (consistant tension), like90 272's (lighter than trex woodies, supposedly higher lift efficiency, and should improve motor efficiency). my heli is pretty heavy too since im using a seperate Rx battery to take current load off my lipo, im gonna buy a super light weight one when it comes in stock. may also look for a CF frame and knock off more static weight. i believe i can easily lose another 100grams.
i research the AP setups, because their goal is stability & max flighttime with heli carrying the extra weight of cameras. that's just my take on it.
