Default RE: Showtime gas engine

Dick,

get a Mueller header and a 3M Mintor alum. pipe for that thing!!! Total weight 5.2 oz plus just going to the Mueller header I picked up 200rpm over the MVVS header. Running 8700 stinking rich on a Beila 17x10. Hope to have it in the air next week. See how it does on an Icepoint.

The EVO on it's full pipe is perfect for the Funtana -
I am running this in a 10 lb 2 ozs model -which pulls and accelerates straight up from a hover -
my engine runs 9100 on the ground on 17x8 and simply yanks the hell out of the model. It is quiet smooth and sips gas.10 oz tank plenty big. I used a 14 oz and never run it over half way in close to 10 min of flying.
The power is comparable to the ROTO -on pipes-in both instances . The EVO weighs 8 ozs less and the carb is up front -so depending on what your model is , choose accordingly.
The EVO is as friendly to start and run as any gas engine I have or have seen - -It choke starts easily and thereafter -It starts by simply switching on power and making one easy flip at idle -you can't find any easier setup.
I have run the ROTO 26 in a Funtana and it also is very smooth and good power .
Do NOT use ANY brand in cowl muffler -you will be likely disappointed with lower power and or high noise. The pipe setup is easily best match
Weight -EVO- 32 oz engine - 12 header and pipe - 3 ozs battery - 5 ozs ignition. You are adding -over a 32 oz 4 stroke -about 14 ounces - (don't forget muffler!)
but you loose need for 8 ounces of fuel and about 1 ounce on tank - the mount required is actually lighter -as it is one hell of a lot smoother.
So net weight gain is under 1/2 lb.
