Default RE: 8 port problem

That high idle for 6-10 seconds before it drops down to a low idle is perfect for racing!!!!! I've tried to explain that a few times here in these forums. But you might need to adjust your idle up just a hair to keep it from stalling when it does drops down.

You should not control how the temps of your engine are with the idle. What I mean is that you shouldn’t have to come to an idle to cool it down (not saying you are). So if your HSN is set correctly and you are getting good power and temps, your LSN is set perfect! It will rocket off the bottom now and accelerate cleanly to the top end. That alone will get you up to speed faster. It’s a fact! Good job, just adjust the idle screw.

Oh, FYI:
Keep an eye out on the Needles on a 8 port. The o-ring tend to break down fast and start running erratic. What you can do is rebuild/replace all the o-rings in the carb or get an OS 20e carb. The o-ring rebuild is cheaper.
