Repairs adding weight?
I have an aerobird challenger with about 20 flights.
The wing is repaird with 1/4 x 1/4 x 14" oak.set into a groved out chennel on the bootom wing side.
it is held in with hot glue and expoxy filled the top creases. This holds up great in loops and dives.
The V-tail has a cross dowel mid way up and guitar sting up at the top.
It seems I have about three trys to get a good launch or the plane will turn and dive. like it is stalling. When it is up the glide time seems a little shorter and faster. I have also notice it has been less responsive. Tonight I have moved the lines to the bottom holes in the horns.I am useing the sport mode. Pro mode is to jerky for me. I hope the lower holes in sport mode is a happy medium. The wind was dead in the large field but it seems I was fighting a wind at 100' If I made the plane dive to get speed,it would then turn.
So..Would this wood and glue.expoy and stapping tape make this plane that much heavier?
I do top off the batts. an hour or less before flying.
I have a new tail and wing but tring to get the most out of them.It is kind of fun working on them.
Thanx for any input.
