Vince, I never heard that. That's a good subject to study up on. Last year at the Warbirds Over Delaware Fly-In, I met and spoke at length with a man who piloted the C-124 to the Far East. He commented that the bird carried a tremendous payload and that he always marveled (to himself) that those unlikely looking wings could do the job so well.
