This will be more than a few steps from a 0.40 size plane. It certainly is a worthwhile project and I like to see building happening. Your engine choice will be a good one for the plane. I had one with a Quadra 52 on ignition. The changes in the "tail feathers" is a good upgrade as the flat stabs had problems if not really braced. The hardware is sorely lacking. I would use it later for planes up to 0.60 or maybe 0.90 glow. Use Hangar-9 or Nelson or equal hardware (formerly Rocket City). All 4-40 linkages, giant scale servos and the like will be necessary.
