GP P-51 aileron roll problems
The guy who trained me several months ago and I were out at the field tweaking out a Great Planes P-51 I purchased from a friend. We worked for several hours trying to get it to fly straight. The problem was the planes tendency to roll right. The ailerons were at the same angle in relation to the wing tips on both sides of the plane. By the end of the day it was flying straight. We had lowered the right aileron a tad.
Problem now: Aileron rolls to the right are perfectly symmetrical, aileron rolls to the left look like a half-#$$ed snap roll. There is no mixing yet since we're just tweaking it out.
We verified the ailerons were about right because the plane doesn't have any tendencies to climb under full power. The .46 OS-FX is mounted on its side.
We're scratching our heads trying to figure out what would cause this and are looking to you experienced folks who may have seen this before to help out.
Thanks in advance.
