Default RE: Marutaka 1/8 Corsair

While waiting for the first layer of glass to dry, I thought I'd post my experience with the GWS electric F4U. It really is a nice midweek park flyer, though the ailerons tend to stick with stock build setup. The control rods are supposed to follow the curve of the wing which drastically reduces authority in the air.

Pic 1: Stock build and airbrush (I hate the orange prop)

Pic 2: In the air at the Army Polo Ground, New Delhi.

During a subsequent weekend, while flying in moderate winds, I came in on my landing approach, and cut throttle as usual. The plane stopped as if it had flown into a brick wall and hit a death spiral. No major damage apart from a bent cowl and ripped off wing. I decided to do a complete rebuild with glassing. My next picture is probably going to have Corsair purists baying for my blood, but hey guys, this was an experiment and I was only having some fun.
