I'm a home builder from way way back. I've built several FDs, KJ66 and Pheonix types that have been flown, along with converted turbochargers for go-carts. I'm more concerned with a spinning prop or ducted fan impeller spinning under my nose than with a turbine. The Dynamax pulse jet hmm loud hot 200mph round and round on 90' braided ss control lines gasoline for fuel never saw one blow up.
People being the way we are I guess this is to be expected. The same thing goes on with the experimental rocket guys. There are the guys who spend countless dollars on very high dollar rocket motors. And then theres the guys who build there own motors for pennies make there own fuel who are fround on the guys with deep pockets. The jet people think they spend a lot of money, try $50.00 to $1000.00 per flight. watch one of these blow up, big hole in the ground.
There are those who will bash the manufacture the first bypass turbine. WOW those big blades.
Hey maybe some day the early JJs and FDs and Pheonix, KJs and letsa not for get the Soffias will be collectors items . Sorry for the spelling.
