Default RE: 1.60 carb mod project

If I end up and have a nuclear melt down from this project, I have no one to blame but myself. I’m willing to sacrifice the cost into this engine and related materials to prove to myself that the overheating issues with this particular engine in a cowled environment is a function of fuel draw/ supply problems, not air flow over the fins to cool. In theory, this system is no different than a high performance heli or racing application. As long as the proper amount of fuel is supplied for ignition and lubrication, that engine or any other glow engine should run all day long without any trouble. I have faith in Klotz Oil that Wildcat uses, I know the guys there, the factory is just down the street here in Ft. Wayne. I have used their products exclusively in glow and gas applications and without failure in extreme conditions like helis where cooling is minimal and abuse is commonplace. I choose to use 30% because that’s what I happen to have around at the moment, 30% also helps smooth out touchy needle settings and mostly I want to have the largest diameter low pitch prop I can get the engine to swing for maximum thrust at around 8500 rpm. I’m working towards a 20x6 Menz on this engine, using the Jett-Turbo, 30% fuel, Menz prop and the vp-30/heli carb combo should get me to my goal nicely. If I’m wrong then I’ll cut my losses and be better for the experience. Please guys, don’t take it personal if I don’t follow your advice to the letter. I understand where everyone is coming from and I am willing to take the chance of destroying this engine in the name if experimentation.
