Default problems with dual redundant system

I am having a problem with my dual redundant system. i am using a futaba PCM receiver and two 6V 1500mAh NiMh packs. Each pack has its own Cermark HD charging switch. One switch/battery is plugged into the battery port and the other switch is "y'd" to the choke servo. I am charging with an accucycle elite. The elite will charge both packs at the same time when I connect the charger directly to the batteries (bypassing the switches). It will also charge the packs individually through the switches. The problem I am having, is that as soon as I connect the charger to both switches and attempt to charge both packs at the same time (through the switches), I get an overvoltage error. I have read some of the posts down lower in this forum and seems to have found my answer- both switch/packs have the same common ground right? So my charger has a problem with this?
In the meantime, I have ordered a battshare from the smartfly website, and am wondering if that will solve the problem. With the battshare, does that isolate both systems such that I will be able to charge both at once using the switches?

Finally, I am obviously using dual packs to provide extra safety in the event of failure. What happens if the battshare fails? what will the packs do?
