I love when things work right
I brought home Hangar 9's Harrier .46 about a month ago, and slowly managed to get it put together (I have two boys under the age of 3).
I'm coming off of a Sig Mayhem 3D, which was the best plane I've ever flown.
I put my O.S. .46 FX into the Harrier, balanced the plane, and took it out to the field. Now mind you, this engine has been collecting dust in a now-retired cub for over 2 years. I put a new plug in it, filled up the tank, applied the starter and... After about 6 seconds on the starter, the engine lit up.
I warmed it up for about 90 seconds, determined the needle setting was spot on, and off she went. Flew great! Just needed some trimming. I have unlimited vertical with this engine, I can't imagine what it does with these oversized engines you guys are bolting on. The weather was in my favor: 50 deg and low humidity, so the engine was really putting out the power with the Top Flite 10x6 propeller.
I love it when things just fall into place and work like you hope.
