If I am at the field with someone that has the same frequency, and even though we are only allowed one frequency pin # to share. I quarenteen my radio to the cab of my Truck when that other guy fly's. That way if he happens to crash, he will not suspect the radio that is laying next to me. When we exchange the pin, we show each other that the other persons radio is off, and that radio is not going to touched while the other guy has the pin #.
This is a form of impound. When I arrive at the field, before I take anything out of the car I go to the frequency board to see if anyone else has my frequency. If not, my card goes in and then I begin unloading. If I actually found someone on the same frequency, hasn't happened yet at my club, my transmitter would go in the impound to protect the other guy against a brain fart.
