It's a good methode to get in the ball park, put if you want to know if your engine is 200 or 250 degrees, a temp gun is best. Duratrax makes one for only 20 bucks. My mom bought it for me too, cause I told her she could use it around the house. (for what, i don't know-maybe cooking).
