Can't understand why you don't like the flex cable system.. I have one on a 4*60, a something extra, a Hog Bipe and a 1/5 scale cub.. never had the slightest problem with either. Did cut a sleeve too short on one, and simply slid a short section of sleeve over the cable to stiffen it between where I cut it off and the throttle arm, leaving enough gap to handle the required throw... They may have changed wire used since you built yours...
It could just be me, but I found the wire to be a piece of crap which would never have worked even if I did not make the mistake with the outer tube...
It is my first kit so I don't have much experience to go on...
The point of this post is to demo the mod though... Not rip on the wire system...
