For the benefit of the thread (I let Manny know about this yesterday morning), I had asked John at VF if I should use these control horns before I ever started putting my Edge together. The reason I asked him was that in the instructions they showed them as well as mentioning pre-drilled holes for them.
His response was as follows:
We changed the control horns to Dubro nylon design as the old screw type ones did not have a large base and would gradually work loose in the control surfaces. These new ones are a better design.
Manny, you're putting them in the ailerons right? Let us know how it goes. Take some pictures and post how you do it.
