Whats the stupidest mistake you've ever made while building?
I bought a plane at a garage sale one time at a very nice price. I stripped the covering off and was making modifications. One of the modifications was removing some huge globs of glue inside the fuse; I think it was from a hot glue gun. I was digging at one rather large clump with an exacto knife when that sucker slipped and caught me right in the wrist. The way it started to bleed I thought for sure it hit the artery. So my wife, about 8 month pregnant, drove me to the hospital while I tightly held a blood soaked towel around my wrist. They took me right away in the ER and the Dr. say well lets take a look. As he removed the towel I held my arm straight out and turned my head to not get caught in what was sure to be a fountain. Well it had stopped bleeding on the way to the ER. No stitches but a parting gift in the form of a shot in the ***** hurt more than the cut.
Even though the plane is long gone I still have the scar on my wrist.
