Hi Jmir.. as you know from the 540t posts i visit.. the edge just doesnt have the power stock.. the 540 really needs a good motor to give you enough power to get into a hover and also to correct the planes additude when it gets out of shape in a hover... i dont even do any 3D with the edge anymore.. it didnt do high alpha stuff good to begin with. dont get me wrong i like the edge a lot.... but its more a precision type plane than 3D.. as for the typhoon.. its fully capable of hovering stock and has all the throw ya need to hover/me flying for 3 months doesnt make me a expert.. but ive been learning quick i think.. heres what i'll pass on. first make sure theres as little wind as possable when you try hovering.. its way easier to hover with no wind and the plane flys more precise overall/id concentrate on the typhoon for hovering. if you dont already have realflight or aerofly.. id invest in it.. even though simms are not real world conditions or planes you can get basics and a general knowledge of most of the basics of 3D with out sacrificing your plane. i wreck on realflight all the time lol but i do really nutty stuff for a beginner to be doing.. and it carrys over to my rc flying. i wreck rc planes to/not often but i do.. usually my crashes amount to hard landings. theres a lot to a hover/im not sure what you do when you try a hover. first stay high enoungh to recover(this is a double edge sword.. high is easy to recover but hard to really make out what the plane is doing real well)the typhoon is nowhere as easy to hover as my yak but all the same stick imputs carry over. elevator/rudder/throttle/and aileron to keep from torque rolling and your using all four inputs almost the whole time and constantly trimming with stick imput to keep the plane in a hover. as for where you could go. your best bet would be a local flying field where theres guys doing this stuff/most people in rc are willing to share knowledge with new people for the betterment of the hobby. if i get time i'll try and get my buddy to tape me doing hovers and get my radio in the footage to show the stick movements as they happen and what they make the plane do.. or narrate a hover as im doing it. good luck and keep at it.. its a very difficult move for someone new but youll get it down given time and wont have to think about how to move the sticks.. it will just happen as you hover.

Get Real
I own both the Parkflyers 540T and the Parkzone Typhoon. I'm a beginner 3D pilot.
So far, I can't hover with either of these two planes for more than 3 or 4 seconds.
Any suggestions as to where I could go to learn what I must do learn how to hover successfully?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jmir
