I also built a Sterling Spitfire, sooo many years ago and I agree, it was a very forgiving, stable flyer. THAT plane could even be considered a second plane,, it was that good. BUT, as I recall, it had lots of washout in the wing, MUCH enlarged tail surfaces and fixed gear with a wider stance than scale. IF Luke installs retracts in the scale location, he's going to have ground looping problems, especially if this is his first taildragger. I hope Luke is aware of the toe-in and camber and caster that is going to be necessary in the placement of his gear. All I can say is that I'd sure like to be there on the first flight.
