I do not understand why people continue, over and over again, to argue with or question what a manufacturer recommends, or try to rationalize why they should use something else. Desert Aircraft has everyone covered. If you do not like the 100:1 idea, as I don't, then use their recommended Belray H1R at 50:1 and be happy.
