RE: Sullivan model 602 starter torque?
Running 24 volt through a standard starter will produce enough torque to start the 180. I don't care for the extra speed it turns thou, so a gear reduction like the one from Miller R/C would be a better set-up IMO. I have the Sullivan S603 Dynatron and it still won't turn over the 180 with my 12V-200 amp field box battery. I have yet to try it with a larger 12V automotive battery to see if there enough amperage.
I use the back flip method like DKJens suggests and it works great on the 180, but doesn't seem to work as well with the smaller displacement engines.
