BVM Maverick Pro Kit?
I absolutely loved my Mavericks!!! I've owned both the Pro and the Standard. Think of the Pro like an Aggressor III with larger wings. Mine went 175 MPH with no gear doors. Early kits had foam core wings that had injection foam near the surface with white foam in the center. Later kits had white foam near the surface with injected foam in the center. The later kits are what is desireable due to the more stable white foam near the surface. All flight surfaces are presheeted. All of that has already been discussed by others here.
I have flown my Mav's out of some very short fields (400-450 feet) and have had no problems at all with takeoffs. You will need brakes to stop short on landing. If you hit the numbers on landing expect only a 200 foot roll with brakes. Grass fields are no problem either.
Several modelers have converted theirs to turbine with only a few mods as long as you stick with the Ram 500, PST 600, and MW 54 size turbines. The first turbine prototype that was sent to the AMA for evaluation was a Maverick! (Built by Del Ellis)
If you go with the Maverick you won't be disappointed. Power it with a BVM .91 or .96 for best reliability. The OS .91 really can't last under the Viojet RPM's---I know 'cause I tried 'em!!! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask...Kevin
