Keep us informed as to how the tape hinge material works on sealing the gap. I will probably seal the gap tonite with some white monocoat. I have a lot of it, can't do any harm.
Do you seal the gap for the rudder and elevator too? Just curious... not sure if the manual says to do that or not or if it is even useful to seal those gaps.
