RE: e-flite mini edge 540
Rob,
I had the park 400 outrunner in the yak with the E-flight 20 amp ESC and 1320 mah 3S Lipo. It was exactly what they recommended on the box for 3-D and they sure did nail it. That Yak is incredible. You can do anything at a snails pace inches above the ground in total confidence. As far as the ME, I felt the same as you. I wanted a balsa electric park flyer size plane. I figured with the balsa fuse, there would be less flex and the ME would do everything E-flights Yak does only better. I hate going to the field and wondering if its going to be my last flight. Specially with a plane as nice as the ME. I just don't feel confident flying litte ME as it seems to have too many bad habits. I spent a lot of time dialing in all the mixes because the roll coupling was pretty bad and the knife edges were terrible. I think I ended up with 5% rudder to elevator mixing to tune in knife edge flight. Also by the time I got enouph weight in the nose for an acceptable CG, I'm starting to think more power might be in line. I've got over 3 oz. of weight on the front of the firewall. Hmmm. I guess thats why everyone is flying this plane with the geared inrunner. Anyways, I've decided to put my ME on Ebay and RCuniverse. I ordered the yak from my local hobby store earlier today. It's not nearly as nice looking as the edge, but at least I'll enjoy flying it.
Ernie,
As far as a link to the yak just go to Horizon hobby's website and click on the arf's. You'll get the whole low down on the Yak there. If it's good enouph for Quique Somenzini, it's good enouph for me.
