Really, I know they're not as cool looking, but get a high-wing trainer. If you've tried flying (and could do it reasonably well), you can even go with a semi-symmetrical high-wing trainer (a little more aerobatic than a basic flat-bottom high-wing trainer). They're called trainer planes for a reason; they're the best ones to learn on.
