When the bevel gear between the engine crankshaft and the sleeve valve gets worn in, it will be real nice. Tell me about starting it. Did you start it by hand or with the Allen type hex driver? And if with a hex driver, were you using a DC electric drill or a model engine starter?
I have started this engine by hand several times. Place your finger on the exhaust and turn the prop until good and wet then light up the glow driver 1/4 throttle and it starts with 1 or 2 flips. I have also used a starter on the prop nut with no problem like any other engine. Never used the hex driver deal.
