RE: elecric back yard flyer help
Dick, if you're not set up with the batteries and chargers there's a fair amount of nonsense required to get set up to fly electric unless you just get one of those "toys" that comes with everything. But I would imagine that you'd get bored with that pretty quick.
I know I picked up a Lite Stik a few years back because it was on sale at a show and was just a few bucks more than the cost of the motor alone. And with all the glowing reviews of it on the 'net I figured it would be good to get a baseline of what is considered "good". Frankly it was a BIG dissapointment. Even with some mods to improve it the flying was still about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Frankly you'd be better off with a GWS of some form, a 1/2A engine and a new radio to replace at least the first of what you lost. Glue on a ply firewall and go fly.
