Default RE: ** WALKERA DRAGONFLY 36 *

I just forget the gyro all together, you get used to it and it's not that much harder to fly. No it's not uncontrolable, I HAVE flown in winds without it, and I can't even pull a side in hover yet!

ok I meant earlier that the ESC plugs into the Rx like any other servo, as that's what it is, just it moves the motor instead of pitch/whatnot. I decided, what the heck let's put the gyro back on for the maiden flight of the brushless, just so it's not a wreck. So I go out and plug it in unthinkingly putting it in the ESC's plug instead of the tail servo as they have the same colored wires (pink white black) not noticing that it was infact the motor. so I take it out and fly, it did pretty well actually, but the gyro "range" switch made it so my motor was limited. (this was on a VERY windy day by the way) I found it odd that everyonce and a while it would spaz starting up the motor when I was moving it. I couldn't find the problem and thought it must be interference. I kept flying until I knifed it into the ground, and took it home. After fixing it I decided I'd live without the gyro as it wasn't doing a thing when the heli was spun by wind. (my heli would dip up and down when tail was applied which was a slight problem). While removing it I found the problem and that's what I meant by putting the gyro on the motor.
