Default RE: AMA sanctioned events stinginess

ORIGINAL: littlecrankshaf

Hello guys. Just wanted to see what you think about the stinginess of the local club here. The Tyler Modelers Club (here on TMC) has proclaimed that they will not allow participation in sanctioned events by local AMA holding enthusiasts here unless specifically invited.

TMC shares a flying field in a park with other flyers at Tyler, Texas. The city has graciously allowed the club to reside at this park as a group and allows individuals to fly the park with a permit. TMC has in place rules that discriminate by location who is allowed to fly there as guests. Simply put the rules do not allow anyone within a 50 mile radius of the park to fly as guests of TMC’s members and restricts permit holders from participating in TMC events or in sectioned events.

TMC’s position is very unbecoming to the spirit of this hobby and AMA’s directives IMO.

What are your opinions?
"stinginess"... okay, your opinion is they're being cheap. You appear to have some other issues with the club, too.

"...has proclaimed that they will not allow ..." What is the wording of the proclamation? I've read all the responses and would like that bit of information.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson
