Default racing in the dry state of arizona

just some questions from a complete neophyte, I now am the proud owner of an "crackerbox" with a custom 17 turn motor but also has the stock 27turn motor. does anyone know of a race club or any club in arizona where I can have some fun with this boat? All the guys out here seem to have hydros and tunnel hulls and completely speed freaks, nothing wrong with that but if you are like me on a restricted budget (senior citizen) and can't spend thousands what can you do? Not to reflect but when I was younger I raced slot cars professionaly and the adults and money ruined the sport, if a kid went in to a slot car track with his off the shelf model he was blown away by the adults who had spend lots of moola to hop up their cars and the kids lost interest, is the same thing happening with rc boats, I did not see many kids at these areas where people ran the boats most of the people were male in late 30's or 40's with two to three boats and a potload of tools, batteries, etc., is this sport truly that expensive or can one just have fun. Anyway not to keep going, if you have any answers for me I would like to hear them. thanks
