RE: VMAR Mig 21
I have a very good friend at my model flying club who tests 1st production VMAR models for the Australian VMAR distributor. He gets to keep what he tests (His shed is 3 deep in VMAR planes!)
He told me that of the 3 "jets," the Mig 21 flies the best, followed by the F4 and that the Skyhawk was not as easy, due to its very short fuselage.
The Mig's Delta wing makes it quite stable. However its one weak point is the colour. Not easy to see against a grey sky.
When compared to a more conventional sport model, he said that it was very similar to fly, quite stable, but a little faster. If you can handle a 4 channel, low winged, aileron model, you will have no problems with the Mig.
Good luck
Walt, the layout (servo positions etc) of the VMAR Phantom is almost identical to the layout of the now oop Great Planes F4 Phantom Kit of about 8 years ago. That kit was a big model, but a wonderful flyer. (I cannot understand why GP stopped production of their F4 or F15 kits)
I have a GP F4 Kit in storage.
