Default Homelite Headgasket

I am doing another 30cc Homelite conversion for a friend and I had a question about head gaskets. I will be doing all the modifications learned here on RCU, stuffing plate, porting, custom intake ect ect. I was wondering about not using the head gasket. All the 25cc-30cc Homelites I have done I have always used the head gasket but was thinking about not using one this time to gain that little extra compression. Is it worth it? What sealants do people use? Can I count on a good seal? I have some gasket maker liquid in a tube and was thinking about using that. If there is a chance of a lack of sealing, I would just use the gasket, especially if the gains are not that significant. Any and all thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
