Problems starting my 140DZ
This is my first 140DZ YS (I have a 120 & 140FZ)
I recently bought a plane that came with this engine and its had very little running time (max 30-40mins) I tried a 'soft' start procedure, get the engine turning over briskly and then applying the glow clip and it wouldnt fire at all, lots of fuel tipped out of the muffler after. Next we try it with the plug on and gave it short 'bangs' with the starter and eventualy this got it running Once running it was absolutely fine, next flight same thing again, very difficult to get started, it seems to respond better with a quick 'bang' of the starter or even a flick with a chicken stick, although I didnt like this because of there reputation to bite...which it did do a few times but not too badly.
Any advice on getting it started would be apreciated.
The tank is filled with Model Technics 'Yamada 20%' through a Dubro quick fill valve (should I still clamp the intake on the regulator even though the fuel can only flow to the tank with the quick fill valve?)
Only other pipe on the tank is a vent/overflow
Thanks
