It'll work great with FMS using the parallel port adapter.
I've built 2 so far 1 with a cable and 1 built into the backshell of the 25 pin Dsub using a custom pcb I made @ work.

This will work with the 6 channel TX Gen 3 ( what you have ) or a modded Gen 2.
