Because when you go to the track to race, these are the top three you will find, so if you have X-brand car, no one can help you much. Most shops that are tied to a track will stock AE and Losi parts, because that is what the racers have. Also when you ask for set up tips/help, the racers at the rack will have knowledge of those trucks.

So in conclusion if you intend to buy a truck to "race", you're better off with those three choices
especially in California, where DARTH_EVADERst(the person I was responding to) is.
