I wouldn't think twice about driving 40 miles to get glue if it meant using a substitute I wasn't familiar with. A 2oz bottle is what, $3.00 or so? Buy a couple extra and when you open the last one, re stock so you're not running out at a bad time. Bite the bullet and get in the car, already...
