Gee Bee R2
Den,
I was glad to see the picture you posted of the R2. I'm done with the fuse, wing, rudder and fillets. It was nice to see that I'm not that far off the mark.
Dealing with Adrian Page is very nice, but as previous posts have remarked, the instructions and accompanying photos leave much to be desired. This is my fifth kit and I am taking my time. It has been my absolutely favorite aircraft since I was a boy. The shape is just so...well, 1930s.
I have done a lot of the building steps after reading the instructions four or five times, referring to the photos and plans (both views) over and over, finally doing the steps on faith alone. So far I have lucked out...especially with the rudder.
I was going to cover in white and red monokote, but now am wondering if I shouldn't try to use white only and mask and paint the red. Any thoughts?
