I should be reading 1.2 VDc. Why is it reading 10.17 VDc from the glow jacks, or am I missing something? I backed it up with another meter and got : 11.64 VDc to 11.66 VDc. Is there an internal resistance when a glow plug is actually hooked up?? I have not tried to actually heat a glow plug. I worry about the excessive voltage. Thank you for any help. Mike
Try it with a glow plug before you return it. Most modern panels use a circuit to pulse the power on and off rather than just adding a resistor to lower the voltage. Most likely your voltmeter just can't deal with it. I've never measured mine, but the only time I've blown plugs with a panel is when I accidentally plug the leads into the 12 v circuit instead of 1.2 v. [X(]
PS. I decided to measure mine. It reads 10.71 with no load.
