I think scratch building used to be design and build. Many people have miss used the term and now it means plans built. I prefer to use the terms - plans built or scratch built (meaning design and build)
I think I am in the minority here though.

Guys,
This is your forum and questions are being asked whether we should enhance it a bit for your enjoyment. Please vote and share your thoughts. Thanks.
I vote "Other", here is what I would like to see:
ARF Warbirds
ARF Multi-Engine Warbirds
Warbird Kits
Warbird Scratch Built
Warbird Giant Scale kits
Warbird Giant Scale Scratch Built
Multi-Engine Warbird Kits
Multi-Engine Giant Scale Warbird Kits
Multi-Engine Scratch Built Warbirds
Multi-Engine Giant Scale Warbirds Scratch Built
(For those that want to know, scratch build does not mean design, design means design. Scratch building is a type of building, meaning the plans are already there. Therefore the proper wording for a person that designs a plane, cuts and assembles his own parts would be “designed and scratch built”.)
I am completely sick of threads that start with a picture of a new ARF in the box, they clog up the forum, “look what I just bought” thread. I don’t want to go to just a twin engine forum and see a Twin Stick thread! I have very specific interests and most of what I see in these categories I don’t want to bother with, ARF threads push all the good thread away. I understand that most people don’t build these days, but to get specific information about building a particular kit or information about a particular plan would be much easier to find with more precise categories. Some people are posting Warbird kit building threads in the “Kit Building” category.
Please don’t respond to my post, just post your own ideas, these are mine and I’m not changing my mind.
