I have had the same problem with EZ connectors out at the field. Because I have a little SUV (RX 300) I need to remove my H stabs everytime I fly. I bring spare sullivan golden connector safety clips and they seem to work fine. If all else fails I dab just a drop of CA on the clevis side and hold it all together with a small zip tie. The best solution is to just bring extra. I would have to have that .05c part bring down a $4k airplane.
