Default Sig Rascal versus Big Stick?

Hi all

I am looking for a new home for my OS46Fx. I currently fly a World Star 40 trainer, and would like something that is a bit more sporty - something more direct in flight style - that you point and fly, with good aerobatic abilities (although the world star is not too bad in this regard).

I've flown electrics before the trainer, so flying skill levels are probably good for a first IC plane.

People in our club tend to move from the trainer style to a plane called the Scanner - a low wing trainer. I'm hoping to skip this stage if I can, as I'd like a plane that I can keep long term and not grow out of too quickly. I've got a Flash 5X tx, so can hopefully tame a more mature plane with dual rates and expo until skill levels get up to speed.

I've read lots of good reports about the big stick type planes. The looks are not great, but if they are the best flyers then so be it. However the Sig Rascal looks like it might be the happy compromise between looks and flying. Is this the case? Is it as precise and fun to fly as the stick style? Any draw backs?

Many thanks for your advice.

I've posted a poll, but please also tell me why you prefer one over another.

Peter
