As Ray Stits used to tell me "We can make a quality product but we can't put craftsmanship in a can". Sounds like you're coming along nicely. Just curious if you know or have heard of Charlie Nelson and Graeme Mears? Charlie goes by the nickname of Mr. Waco. He campains a Waco every year at Top Gun. Graeme is also a world class modeler and he did a model you would have sworn from the pictures you could jump in and fire up the radial. Both are excellent resources for info.
