I kinda like the 5" CG suggestion. Mine, at 4.5" is very quick to drop the nose in low speed, high alpha flight. Though not dramatic, it is "pronounced" over a Sig Somethin Extra I fly too. I think some of the paranoia of moving the CG back on this plane was a comment that the elevator becomes too touchy. This is true for just about any plane. Just keep your low-rates small throws at first and/or give yourself some expo till you get used to it. I think manufacturers automatically give you forward CGs that ensure success for those new to the hobby.
