Of course it is going to be touchy, but that was not the concern addressed. If your CG is to far back this plane does not only becomes touchy, it becomes almost not flyable. Not talking about landing. Trust me, I have flown several planes with aft CG and all of them get touchy on the elevator but this one is a little different. At least for me.
Oh and by the way, CG at 5" is not moving the CG back. Try 5 3/4" or more and you will see. Then compare it to a Top Cap or other in it's class.
Expo is almost a must when setting CG back.
I would definitely not recommend to put the CG behind 5" for maiden flight ! I would set it in the most aft position recommended in the manual (if you have flown planes with aft set CG) and then work from there.
