In my opinion... it's different because I'm American, and personally, I have a hard time looking at a German\Jap score board of an Allied Kill. German and Japanese hobbyists may or may not have a problem with putting their respective "kills" on their models. Quite frankly. I don't care how they feel, could'nt give a (*&^.
Point here is... Everyone has a right to choose the subject they want to model. If you want to model a captured American aircraft, then have at it. Good luck, and I hope you have fun doing it. You're right, some schemes have been done to death (Gabreskis Jug, Kepford, and Boyingtons Corsair, etc.). It will be nice to see something different. I thought about doing the very same scheme you're thinking about, would hope you keep us posted as you go, and hope to see some pics. of the finished jug.
