I've used the 5945s on full-flying stabs, and they seem to sometimes re-center themselves. I've used the digital 225s and have had about a 50% failure rate (failure like they suddenly stop working without any trauma).

Shaun, 6 volts?
Does it make a difference if you use 4 or 5 cells?
I was looking at the specs on the 5645 and the 5945. They appear pretty close other than a little increased torque. Does one performe better than the other in the jet.

I don't know. In my experiance the more voltage, the more power and speed. I was wondering if the reason Shaun had them 'suddenly stop working without any trauma' just might be the voltage. I had some of the old RCDs that worked well on 4.8V while the ones on 6V 'just suddenly quit working'.
