Default AFPD planes hover by themselves?

Why do the planes in AFPD want to fall into a hover all by themselves? Both the included shockflyers and a custom Funtana that I downloaded and setup exactly like my real one always want to drop their tails and lock into a hover all by themselves. So much so in fact that I have to hold *down* elevator to hold them in a harrier to keep the tail from sinking. In real life my planes all require that you hold *up* elevator to keep the nose up and tail down in harriers. Neutralize the controls and my real planes fly out, they don't sink into a hover.

In both real life and in the sims I have the cg's set to provide neutral flight upright and inverted. In the sim, moving the cg forward to a less neutral position still doesn't get rid of this behavior so it doesn't seem that this behavior is cg driven.

I would really like the get the sim more in line with reality (although it would be nice if real planes flew like this ). Is there something I can change in the sim?

Thanks
Clark
