Default Evolution 46

Okay, I went to my LHS yesterday to pick up a reciever, and he has THREE brand new Evolution engines in the display case. There are three versions of this engine:

1. The Evolution trainer system, which is the one that comes with the Alpha trainer. The engine by itself comes with the flywheel and three blade Evolution prop.

2. The Evolution .46, which appears to be the same engine as the one above, but WITHOUT the flywheel and three blade prop.

3. The Evolution .61, which is bigger, and has no flywheel or prop.

I have read several complaints about the performance of the engine with the thre blade prop. Fact is guys, that system was not designed for stellar performance. The prop is designed for low noise, and slow speeds, so a trainer is easy to handle. If you take the Alpha, or any other trainer with the Evolution trainer engine and three blade prop on it, and put it in a dive, you will notice that the plane doesnt gain any airspeed. This is the whole point of that system, to have a no frills engine and prop that will keep the trainer at slow speeds so a beginner can keep on top of things. the guy at the shop tells me he is running one of the new .61 engines, and it has rivaled or beaten any other .61 he has run in its class. I havent seen it fly, but several of the guys in his club are saying the same thing.
