Does anyone know what to do with the head dampening shims, or what they are supposed to do for that matter?

I bought a pack of them (online) not really knowing what they were for and assuming they would come with instructions on how to use them, well no instructions came with them.

I guess they are supposed to go somewhere on the spindle, but where at and what for?
