One final suggestion then I won't bother you anymore. What if they put on 85% of the foam, THEN put Kevlar over it THEN apply the remaining 15% of the foam. That way the majority is contained and the Kevlar is not subject to heating. Even if an outer piece of foam detaches it would be too small to cause any problem.
